The Pantanal is the largest wetland on the planet, a huge plain, with rivers flowing smoothly during the wet season in many meanders and submerging more than 80% of the country. It has the richest collection in the world of aquatic plants.
The Pantanal is a region that half of the year, forms a huge marsh; geographers call this a planécie which represents the largest wetland of this kind, before the African Saad swamps along the Nile Delta Central Niger and internal delta of the Okavango. The flood is because the region is 1500 km from the sea and just 150 meters, which provides just 1 mm per kilometer slope. During the rainy season, the quantities of water can stagnate and evacuated an area of nearly 200,000 sq. km.
