K?lauea is one of five shield volcanoes that together form the Island of Hawai?i. It is an active volcano in the Hawaiian Islands and means in Hawaiian "much spreading", in reference to the mountain's frequent outpouring of lava. K?lauea is the most visited active volcano and is currently the most active volcano on earth.
